"lies the growing and processing of this top quality, typically Piedmontese raw material harvested on our farms."
Cascina Fontane came about in 2016 as a result of an almost chance encounter between Cristina and Dario. Bringing together their different work experiences, they set out to achieve excellence by growing PGI-status Piemonte hazelnuts to the highest standards in their orchards and transforming them into the kind of genuine, high quality products that only small artisanal Italian farms are capable of guaranteeing.
The celebrated vineyards and magnificent hilltop castles scattered over the gentle hills of the Langhe strewn with villages, hamlets and parish churches make this part of the region of Piedmont quite unique in the scenic and cultural panorama of the Italian peninsula.
And it is in particular the higher hills of the Alta Langa, bordering on the coastal region of Liguria, that the Tonda Gentile Trilobata variety of hazelnut has adopted as its home.
Here the special characteristics of the soil form the perfect natural habitat for the hazel tree.
Cascina Fontane pays great attention to ecology, environmental values and consumer health, following modern farming methods and using highly advanced technology.
From the tree to the harvest and processing.
